Brand and Retail Business Development Manager (Northern California)

A well established, multi-location food processor in the Sacramento area is seeking a Brand and Retail Business Development Manager.  This position will focus on the development and sales of bottled oil in the retail market, with an emphasis on new product commercialization as well as category and consumer trend analysis.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Develop and test concepts based on consumer, market, and retailer feedback.
  2. Manage development of new product concepts and launch timelines.
  3. Identify, qualify, and recruit new retail accounts.
  4. Partner with management and outside marketing resources to develop product, packaging, P&Ls, and go to market strategy.
  5. Act as liaison between customer and company operations team as necessary to ensure customer needs are met.
  6. Conduct regular business reviews with each customer to improve program performance, highlight new company product lines, and set plans to profitably expand the company’s sales.
  7. Be an active contributor to the culture of innovation.

Requirements include:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Five or more years of experience in product development.
  3. Motivated self-starter capable of generating a high degree of respect and trust internally and with outside partners.  Able to build strong relationships across the organization, with customers, and other stakeholders.
  4. Experience in food processing highly desirable.
  5. Ability and willingness to travel regularly.
