Customer Service & Logistics Manager (Sacramento CA Area)

Overview:
A leading California processor and marketer of food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical oils seeks a Customer Service & Logistics Manager at its seed processing and oil refining plant.  With a commitment to quality and consistent performance, this company has been a leading processor for over 25 years and is the leading supplier of organic and natural expeller pressed oils.
The Customer Service & Logistics Manager is a mid-management, front line office, inside sales, and compliance position.  This growing company requires an energetic customer focused leader. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the customer experience.
  2. Manage communications and problem solve with customers to fulfill their needs.
  3. Manage a team consisting of customer service reps and import / exports logistics schedulers.
  4. Work in a self-guided environment while coordinating the work and activities of others.
  5. Effectively communicate and coordinate with internal departments and personnel.
  6. Ensure company's service standards are met or exceeded by entire team.
  7. Initiate customer orders within ERP, overseeing accurate and timely processing.
  8. Interact with credit and collections (AR).
  9. Oversee some shipping and warehousing functions.
  10. Schedule and execute logistics for bulk and packaged orders, both domestic and internationally.
  11. Participate in inventory management functions as required.
  12. Assist with inside sales campaigns, customer/vendor inquiries, and assessments as needed.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree.
  2. Five or more years of experience required in customer service/logistics and office or inside sales management experience.
  3. Ability to create efficiencies and a focus on continued improvement.
  4. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, banking, analysis, and financial reporting.
  5. CRM, customer activity reporting and scheduling a plus.
  6. Strong organization, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  7. Working knowledge of domestic/international logistics and transportation routes.
  8. International compliance & customs experience preferred.
  9. Experience in food production desirable.
