HR/Safety Supervisor (Northern California)

Overview:
An agricultural company near Chico, CA seeks an HR/Safety Supervisor.  This position will ensure that all Federal and State regulations and internal policies are adhered to and play a critical role in driving towards a high performance culture.  The position’s primary responsibilities include the effective administration of all employee related actions including employee relations, compensation/payroll processing, recruiting, staffing, employee safety, and benefit administration.

Responsibilities:

  1. Partners with operations team to develop methods to recruit, develop and retain skilled workforce.
  2. Responsible for the recruitment, selection and onboarding of employees.
  3. Responsible for assuring the uniform and consistent administration of disciplinary due process in a manner that is consistent with internal policy.
  4. Responsible to perform weekly payroll processing, including payroll tax filing and payments.
  5. Responsible for administration of benefits including health and welfare, 401(k), PTO and others. 
  6. Plays major role in assuring a safe work environment including:
  • Effectively handles all worker’s compensation claims and any other litigious actions/claims against the firm.
  • Collects records and investigates information concerning worker’s compensation, FMLA and related situations.
  • Works with worker’s compensation carrier in driving cost-effective and appropriate resolutions to outstanding worker’s compensation claims.
  • Maintains all written safety programs.
  • Schedules and coordinates all required industrial safety testing and monitoring.

7. Ensures the accuracy and completeness of all employee documents in file, including time and attendance records.
8. Responsible for HR compliance by participating in audits/assessments conducted by third parties.
9. Assists senior management with various tasks including A/R and A/P support.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, or HR related field.
  2. Candidate should have minimum two to four years’ experience in human resources function.
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills a must.
  4. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power-Point).
  6. PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

This position offers a competitive salary depending on qualifications and experience.. In addition, compensation includes:
