Morrison Client COOC Weighs In On CDFA Olive Oil Commission

Morrison is blessed to have several clients in the California olive oil industry, including California Olive Ranch, Pacific Farms and Orchards, and the California Olive Oil Commission.

Earlier this week, California Governor Jerry Brown signed legislation that would establish a formal olive oil commission, the Olive Oil Commission of California, under the California Department of Food and Agriculture. The commission would help coordinate efforts by state olive growers and oil manufacturers to strengthen the competitiveness of California’s olive oil industry.

Our friend and client Patricia Darragh, Executive Director of the state’s olive oil trade commission, the California Olive Oil Commission, weighed in with her support of the new commission in a press release put out by Senator Lois Wolk, the sponsor of the legislation.

“The COOC is delighted to hear the news of the signing of Senate Bill 250 by Governor Brown,” said Darragh. “As the industry grows, our long standing commitment to quality and standards becomes a critical issue for consumers and retailers in the marketplace. Kudos to State Senator Lois Wolk for her vision and support of the California olive industry.”

We always love seeing our clients in the news for the great work they are doing and supporting!
