Morrison helps CA farmers secure $63,146 in REAP grants
The USDA announced grant awards for the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) today and two Morrison clients were awarded a combined $63,146 in grant funding for on-farm energy projects in Northern California.
FDS Farms received $20,000 towards the cost of installing a solar project to offset agriculture pumps on their Northern California rice operation.
Sam Mudd, a first generation walnut farmer, received $43,146 to offset the cost of a solar panel installation on his Red Bluff farm.
REAP offers financial assistance to farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses to purchase and install renewable energy systems and make energy efficiency improvements. Up to 25 percent of eligible energy project costs can be funded through REAP grants, and additional support can be provided in the form of a loan guarantee.
