New law to benefit California winegrowers

Morrison works a number of clients in the California wine industry, so we were happy to see some news that could benefit California wine growers and wine makers.

This week, California Governor Jerry Brown signed into law legislation that allows wine growers who bottle their own wine to conduct instructional tastings at farmers’ markets.

Wine tasting areas would have to be separated from the rest of the market, but will allow consumers to taste a small sample of wine before making their purchase. You can read the full story on the new legislation here.

We’re hopeful this new provision will increase sales of California wine and strengthen the industry. I’ll be checking my own local farmers’ market to see when sipping starts!
